Greetings! My name is Lauren Sopher (she/her). My passions are grounded in ecology, community, art, and design — particularly where these fields intersect. I protect the functions and values of wetlands as a District Wetlands Ecologist in the Northeast Kingdom with the State of Vermont’s Department of Environmental Conservation. While a master’s student in the Field Naturalist Program at the University of Vermont, my work centered on facilitating socially just conservation via the PLACE (Place-based Landscape Analysis & Community Engagement) Program in the community of Greensboro Bend, Vermont. During my undergraduate years at the University of Michigan, I concurrently studied art and science. Thanks for visiting — I hope you have a solid day that includes a micro-joy or two.
